If you ever ask me what mascara I use, 100% of the time, it will be a drugstore mascara. I don’t believe in spending ridiculous amounts on mascara especially since you have to replace it every 3 months for hygienic reasons. Why not save on certain beauty products, so you can splurge on others!

Architectural Packaging
L’Oreal has done an excellent job at the packaging. Housed in a gold plastic architectural case, it gives this drugstore mascara a very luxurious appearance. It makes a very firm “click” when you close the tube, so you never have to worry about your mascara opening up while in your purse.
Tapered Wand
The mascara wand is a stiff tapered bristle wand that allows for precise application. The mascara formulation features a unique blend of long and short nylon and rayon fibers, which is the same material used to make false lashes. The wand picks up all the nylon and fibers. Sometimes mascara clumps up at the top of the wand, so you need to wipe it on a piece of tissue or on the top of the tube before application. As you wiggle the wand from the base of the lashes to the tip, you can see the fibers bonding onto the lashes for that false look effect. The only disturbing thing with the formulation is that you see thin hairs on the wand thinking your lashes are shedding.

My thin asian lashes naturally point straight down, so I like to curl the heck out of them. When I apply non-waterproof mascara, it tends to de-curl and I end up seeing black dots. Because waterproof mascaras contain more waxes, it tends to hold a curl better. You can see the transformation from non-mascara to me curling my lashes to using the mascara. It truly gives me the false lash look. I had a few co-workers asked if I got lash extensions done and wouldn’t believe it was my own lashes.
Is this product waterproof?
Yes! I have walked through 25 minutes in the pouring rain multiple times and my mascara was still on. To take it one step further, I went to bootcamp/kickboxing for the past two weeks with the mascara on and it stayed in tack. It did smudge a bit when the workouts were so intense that sweat was dripping into my eye, but my lashes were still curled and the mascara was still on!
Is this product clump-free?
Yes! The thin brush combs through my lashes to prevent any clumping. It even applies the mascara on my bottom lashes without it appearing spidery.
Is this product flake-free?
Yes! My old favourite mascara, Maybelline Falsies, used to flake throughout the day on me or when the formulation would get old, it would flake even more, resulting in black dots on my face. So far this product has not given me any problems. Even when I sobbed to the point where my eyes were swollen, my lashes were somewhat curled and the mascara was still on my eyes and there were no flakes.
Is this product smudge-free?
Somewhat. I am super oily to the point where about noon, my concealer will crease on me after setting it with powder. The oil on my face doesn’t break down any of the mascara. Like I previously mentioned, the only time the mascara smudged on me was when I was working out to the point where sweat was dripping into my eye. Even then, it was a tiny black smudge.
Would I buy this product again?
YES! What more can you want in a product? It gives me a false lash look, volumizes, lenghtens, de-clumps, waterproof, and lasts throughout the day & strenuous workouts!
