REVIEW:
Note: All swatches are done without base or top coat to accurately show you the sheen of the polish. Also, I’m not great at applying nail polish, so apologies in advance.
The main inspiration of this year’s collection was flowers.
One thing I noticed about this collection is the fact that the polish “self-levels”. What that means is that once you apply the first coat, it miraculously translates to a sheer but streak free finish. Also, by applying thin coats, it dried surprisingly quick.
Using My Maiden Name – Blue Hydrangea – a warm violet with pink iridescence. Has a jelly like formula that provides a streak free finish after the first coat. Only requires 2 coats to be fully opaque.
Meet Me At The Altar – Lilacs – a blue based pink with ultra fine pink and silver shimmer. Due to the crème finish, the shimmer is really subtle and hardly noticeable once applied. Requires 3 thin coats to fully cover the nail.
No Baggage Please – Roses – a baby pink with silver shimmers. Again, due the crème finish, the varnish actually covers the shimmer, so it’s really subtle. Requires 3 thin coats to fully opaque.
What do you think of the Essie 2013 Bridal Collection? Which polish in the collection is your favourite?
