Two weeks ago, I went on vacation to the Dominican Republic, more specifically Puerto Plata.  It was weird being “off the grid” for so long, but definitely worth it.

Being at a hot destination, it meant bikinis, shorts, and dresses…which also meant SHAVING!

I tried really hard to minimize the amount of products I was bringing.  One of the products that I eradicated from my list was shaving gel.  How do you ask?

Does this razor offer a close shave?
Yes! Schick Intuition Moisturizing Care Pack features a razor with 4 blades, which allows for a very close shave.  I’m fortunate enough that I have very fine leg hair.  (side note: my mother actually has no hair on her legs.  wish I got that gene).  The leg hair is so fine that whenever I epilate or wax, no hair ends up being pulled.  So shaving is my only solution.  If you take a closer look, the razor and Skin Conditioning Solid are on an angle.  This angle was specially designed to ensure contact with your skin at all times. I actually lasted 4 days without stubble showing on my skin or until I felt stubble on my skin!

Does the Skin Conditioning Solid replace the need for shaving gel?
Yes! Truth be told, when I was younger, I never used shaving gel.  I just ran a razor with water in the shower.  It worked and I didn’t think much.  As I got older and tried shaving gel, I realized that it allowed for a closer shave and my skin was smoother because the gel acted as an emollient.  Schick did not disappoint with this product and it definitely replaced shaving gel!  The Skin Conditioning Solid lathered up in the shower acted as the emollient, so the 4 blades just glided across my skin.

Does the Skin Conditioning Solid leave my skin feeling soft?
Yes! My legs were super smooth and well moisturized.  Being in a hot destination, my skin tends to get dried up in the sun and being in salt water.  So it was really important that my entire body was well moisturized.  Coming out from the shower with smooth legs, I needed minimal lotion compared to the rest of my body.

Would I buy this product again?
Yes! It satisfied all my needs.  Not only is it a vacation essential, it’s also an everyday essential.  This product has replaced my old razors and is hanging in my shower!

Here are a few notes about the product:
(1) It features a detachable head, allowing you to interchange between different Skin Conditioning Solids.  You just press the button and the head comes off really easily.  The downside of this is that if you drop the product, the Skin Conditioning Solid comes off and gets a few knicks.

(2) Inside the Schick Intuition Moisturizing Care Pack, it comes with a shower holder.  This was essential on my trip as I didn’t want to leave my razor on the countertops or tiles for sanitary reasons.  After shaving, it is recommended to store your razor in a dry place to preserve the Skin Conditioning Solid.  The shower holder definitely helped this as it just stuck to the wall and allowed for the razor to rest in an upright position.  The downside of the shower holder is that you can easily rotate it while it is stuck against the wall.  If you by accident shift the position of the holder, the entire razor falls with it causing the Skin Conditioning solid to detach and have a few knicks.
