In the beginning of June, I got a call from BlushPretty to do makeup for an engagement shoot.
Boy do I love doing makeup for engagement shoots! There is usually a quicker turnaround time for photos, so you get close to instant gratification. Plus, you get to hear all about the concept and theme for the shoot.
A lot of people usually cringe when I tell them that I have to wake up early on weekends. But they don’t see the perks behind it. One of them being is that there is hardly anyone on the highway. On a normal workday, it might take me an hour or more to get to Downtown Toronto. On a weekend at 6am, it takes me 20-30mins! Plus, there’s free street parking during the wee hours of the morning 🙂
Danielle invited us to her beautiful home and told me that the theme of her engagement shoot was to show pops of red. So we went for a neutral eye, black liner, natural lashes, and bold red lips.
When she told me she wanted red lips, I immediately reached for L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipcolour in True Red. It has the perfect balance of blue and orange tones, making it the perfect red lipstick for practically any skintone.
To ensure that the colour would last throughout her engagement shoot, I used the techniques from my How To: Statement Lip post.
When Danielle e-mailed me the engagement photos taken by Purple Tree Wedding Photography of Dan and her, I was in awe. It had this soft romantic, Parisian feel to the photos which I loved!
