When I received a particular e-mail in my inbox, I was ecstatic!  Why?  Because it was a request to do makeup for one of my good friend’s wedding!  His fiancée had been following my work and was unsure if a guest should be commissioned to work at their wedding.  I told her that any chance I get to do makeup, I’m always game!

I’ve known Richard for almost 10 years now and he was the one that “saved” my life.  In my Life with Acne post, I mentioned how I had a severe reaction to benzoyl peroxide and needed to go to the ER.  Well Richard was that friend that waited with me all night in the ER and took care of me while I was on Benadryl for 2 weeks in my dorm room.  Not too many people would do what Richard did and for that reason alone, he has a very special place in my heart.

When I met Erica, I was so happy for Richard!  Their personalities complimented each other so well and there was an ease to their relationship.  Getting to sit down with Erica one-on-one during her trial was refreshing and allowed me to get to know her better and confirm that she truly is the perfect match to Richard.  Plus I got some awesome “blackmailing” stories about Richard 😉

For Erica’s makeup, we opted for a very natural look with a soft smoky eye.   To really enhance her look, I applied false eyelashes.  Who doesn’t love a pair of falsies on?  When I did the “final reveal” to Erica, her reaction was priceless.  She couldn’t stop starring at the mirror and batting her lashes!

The engagement photos taken by Ben Kane Photography turned out great and really shows off their personalities!  The one thing I’m perplexed with is why they chose to pose with a book titled “Chinese Erotic Art”…but I guess that shall be revealed at their wedding in May!  Can’t wait!
