A few weeks back I posted that I would be attending the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) in Toronto on behalf of Vervegirl.
Just to switch things up a bit, Vervegirl posed a challenge for me. Use products only available at IMATS and see how long they last throughout the day. As Barney Stinson from ‘How I Met Your Mother’ would say, “Challenge Accepted!”
I cheated a bit and used some products that weren’t available at IMATS as I either didn’t own any alternatives or forgot to pack it in my travel bag. These products were my eyebrow pencil, eyelash curler, and mascara.
Let’s get started…shall we?
WHAT I USED:
- Kett Cosmetics Hydro Foundation in O3 – I primarily use Kett in my kit for airbrushing but I just love using this foundation without the use of an airbrush. Since it’s super pigmented and the formulation is thin, it provides me with the coverage I need and feels like I’m wearing nothing at all. Best of all, it’s water-based so it doesn’t break me out 🙂
- Bdellium Tools Pink Bambu 948 Foundation
- NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard
- Bdellium Tools Pink Bambu 776 Blending
- Graftobian HD Creme Super Palette in Warm
- NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder
- Bdellium Tools Pink Bambu 964 All Purpose Blusher
- NARS Blush in Angelika
- MAC Eye Shadow in All That Glitters
- Bdellium Tools Studio 775 Duet Fiber Shader
- MAC Eye Shadow in Wedge
- Bdellium Tools Studio 776 Blending
- MAC Eye Shadow in Embark
- Mark Flat Eyeliner Brush (not available at IMATS)
- Face Atelier Transforming Gel
STEPS:
- Apply Kett Cosmetics Hydro Foundation in O3 all over the face using a Bdellium Tools Pink Bambu 948 Foundation Brush
- Conceal my dark eye bags with with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard and Bdellium Tools Pink Bambu 776 Blending Brush
- Conceal any blemishes and dark spots with the Graftobian HD Creme Super Palette in Warm and Bdellium Tools Pink Bambu 776 Blending Brush
- Set the foundation and concealer with NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder using a Bdellium Tools Pink Bambu 964 All Purpose Blusher Brush
- Using the Bdellium Tools Pink Bambu 964 All Purpose Blusher Brush to apply NARS Blush in Angelika
- Sweep MAC Eye Shadow in All That Glitters all over the lid with a Bdellium Tools Studio 775 Duet Fiber Shader Brush
- Define the crease with MAC Eye Shadow in Wedge and Bdellium Tools Studio 776 Blending Brush
- Mix MAC Eye Shadow in Embark and Face Atelier Transforming Gel to create a gel liner and apply it with a Mark Flat Eyeliner Brush
- Apply my brows and mascara 😉
What a big difference makeup does for me!
After a 10-hour day with no blotting, I can say that my makeup lasted with my skin being a tad dewey. You will probably notice in the photo on the right, that I got some lashes on. Minked Lashes was offering free lash application if you purchased a pair of their lashes. Makeup artist extraordinare, Joy David-Tilberg, chose a pair that she felt best suited my eyes shape and cut them in half. These lashes felt so light and I couldn’t stop batting my lashes at people!
This was such a fun challenge! Thanks Vervegirl for everything!
Stay tuned for my haul and experience post!
