My last wedding of 2013 was with Bick + James. Bick has to be the most chillest bride that I’ve ever encountered. On the day of, she was telling me her mantra was “whatever happens happens” and she would just enjoy every aspect of her wedding. Seriously…she even gave me props when her makeup was done. What kind of bride does that? A super cool one!
For Bick, we opted for the “Satin Taupe” smokey eye! This looks brings back memories to me because it was the first eye look that Rhia ever taught me. Oh how things come back to a full circle!
The major surprise of the night was Bick + James First Dance! When I first saw the video, I absolutely loved it and thought the idea was ingenious!
I need to do a shout out to Mike, the mastermind behind Bongopix, for all of his outstanding work. He processed and posted the photos on his blog within a week! Also, on the day of the wedding, he was oozing with creative ideas on the “First Look” and “Couple Shots”. What impressed me with Mike besides his calm and chill demeanour, is his willingness to get the shot. He wanted a shot of the wedding dress but there wasn’t any place to hang it in the hotel. He started to dismantle the curtains and MacGyver his way to get the shot!
2013 has been an amazing wedding season for me! I got to meet some incredible brides and photographers while working alongside some talented friends. Kyana is definitely one of them! I coin us the “Markham Duo” as she does hair and I do makeup and we just have a great synergy when working together! Can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store for us!
On a side note, thanks Bick for showing me the Despicable Me Minion ringtone! It’s my current ringtone and sometimes I let the phone ring longer than it should, just so I can hear the ringtone for a bit longer. Tee hee 🙂
