Serendipity would be the word used to describe my relationship with the bride and what led me to do the makeup for Jennifer + Conan’s wedding.
Jennifer and I met in University through a mutual friend and by sheer coincidence, I knew all of Jennifer’s roommates through different means. Several years later, to my pleasant surprise, I receive a message on Facebook from Jenn asking for my availability. I’m so glad I was because it meant that we got to catch up!
Jenn + Conan did an interesting thing with their wedding. They had the Chinese Tea Ceremony and Dinner for all their close family and relatives the day before their actual Wedding Ceremony and Reception. With a great amount of trust in me, we did the trial the day before her wedding and that’s when I got to meet Conan, the man Jenn fell in love with.
The morning of the wedding was such a blast working alongside Kyana. Coincidentally I left my portable speakers in my makeup bag, so we ended up utilizing it by blasting Songza’s At the 90’s School Dance playlist and jamming to Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, Boyz II Men, & Destiny’s Child!
All of Jenn’s bridesmaids wanted a very clean and natural smokey eye. In contrast to them, Jenn wanted a more dramatic smokey eye and fuller false lashes.
When Scott Williams walked into the home to take photos and heard ‘N Sync playing, he was shaking his head. I’m not sure if it was in dismay or if he really enjoyed the tunes haha. Thank you so much Jenn + Conan for having me be a part of your special day!
