I’m really fortunate to have brides that have faith in me and my abilities to hire me on their big day. What puts me in awe is when brides hire me without a trial and would meet me for the first time on their wedding day.
That’s what happened for Shirley + Mike’s wedding. Shirley was living in England and didn’t have time to come to Toronto for a trial. To ensure that all her questions/concerns would be addressed and we would be a good fit, we did a consult via Skype.
A few days after Shirley decided to hire me, I received an e-mail inquiry for the same date and time frame. I always like to leave myself enough time to travel between weddings while factoring any delays that might occur. So I had to decline the inquiry.
A few days after that, I receive an e-mail response indicating that she was Shirley’s sister and just realized Shirley had booked me, which meant I was available to do makeup on her. Hahaha…talk about a small world! Two sisters on different continents decided to choose me as their makeup artist 🙂
The morning was definitely a fun one. Especially because I got to hang out with fellow friendor, Ming from Puzzle Creations!
Since Katie with the Maid of Honour, she really wanted the focus to be on her eyes. So we did a very soft satin taupe smokey eye that would compliment her bridesmaid dress and the occasion.
Shirley wanted a very sophisticated and timeless look. So we gave her a neutral smokey eye with the emphasis being on the skin. Using an airbrush, we were able to achieve this flawless and glowing complexion that lasted all day and night!
Due to timing and location, I didn’t get to meet the creative minds behind EightyFifth Street Photography. But I’m definitely crossing my fingers that I will cross paths with Lelaine and Phoebe after seeing these stunning photos!
Congrats again Shirley + Mike on your marriage!
