The countdown is officially on! In 7 months, Ravi and I will officially be commencing our 2-day wedding fiesta! This seems like the perfect time to share some of our Tobermory engagement shoot pictures.
Tobermory is a very special place for us. It’s a place where we instantly fell in love with due to it’s natural beauty and a place where we return to on an annual basis to go camping. I’m not an outdoors type of person, so that’s saying a lot.
Let me introduce y’all to my beloved friendor, Nate from Nate Dionisio Photography. We met back in 2012 at Charmaine + Sath’s Wedding and instantly clicked (see what I did there? eh? eh?). From there, our friendship just continued to blossom. What’s even better is that come 2016, he’s going to be a hop, skip, and jump away from me as he lives super close to my Fiancé.
When Nate agreed to do our engagement shoot up in Tobermory, we were thrilled. It meant for a wicked road trip and for him to get to know Ravi a little bit better. Within 5 minutes of meeting, they instantly developed a bromance. It’s always important to find a photographer that both you and your significant other are comfortable with. They are the people that will be spending the most time with you throughout your wedding. So you want to 1) like them and 2) feel at ease in front of their camera.
So who did my makeup for our engagement shoot? Me! Due to the limitations of time, this was the most logical solution. Truth be told, I suck at putting false lashes on myself, but was elated that I was able to do it successfully within our time constraints. It’s more difficult doing it on yourself versus on someone else due to perspective. This was an iPhone selfie taken from the car without any lipstick, but here’s the look:
The whole concept for this shoot was to showcase the beauty of Tobermory and us being foodies. So the first location we hit up was downtown where we got some ice cream 🙂 Ravi is a huge fan of the Chicago Blackhawks (sorry Leafs Fans), so we wanted to bring that element into our shoot and decided to wear some Blackhawks paraphernalia. The second location was Bruce Peninsula, the pinnacle of Tobermory. The view is just impeccable as the water is crystal-clear and showcases variations of blue-green. For this part of the shoot, we wanted to emulate the colours of the water with our clothing.
Shoutouts to Ravi for being an awesome driver! He drove all the way there and back with minimal pit stops. For those that don’t know, Tobermory is about a 3.5hr drive from Mississauga. *props*
Here are some of our favourites from the shoot. Thank you again Nate for being so incredible awesome throughout the entire process! I can’t wait to work with you again in the near future AND party it up with you & your wife in a few short months! If you want to check out more photos from our shoot, head over to Nate’s blog!
After we were done shooting and hiking, here’s a 10pm grill with 3 cell phone flashlights. Life of Foodies!
